Hello Smoothie

  • 200mls coconut cream (nut milk)
  • 1tbs tahini
  • 1 tbs maca powder
  • 1tbs cocao powder
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbs pea protein (optional)
  • handful ice

Hello friends,

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been incorporating 2 meat-free days into my weekly regime.  I’m doing this for a number of reasons but I’ve been feeling the physical benefits and hope to continue for the foreseeable future.  On these days I’m actually going vegan and sticking to plant-based foods only.

Here’s a great recipe for my post-workout smoothie.  Plenty of fat from the coconut cream and some carbs to replenish my cells, as I want to train tomorrow as well!  On the days when I train but don’t follow up the next day I’m restricting carbs as insulin blunts growth hormone and testosterone –

Throw everything into a blender and blitz for 20 secs or so.  I topped the smoothie with some activated buckwheat for some crunch – feel free to use any seeds, cocao nibs or nuts.
